Summary:
The Site Agent is responsible for the overall management and successful delivery of construction projects, primarily within the Civils and Water sectors. This role ensures projects are completed safely, on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards, while maintaining compliance with health, safety, environmental, and contractual obligations. The Site Agent will lead and coordinate teams including Sub Agents, Engineers, and Foremen, managing resources, programmes, and procurement schedules to meet project objectives. Acting as an ambassador for the business, the role involves close collaboration with Contracts Managers, Project Managers, engineers, quantity surveyors, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure customer satisfaction and commercial performance. The Site Agent is also responsible for cost control, maintaining detailed site records, identifying value engineering opportunities, and producing accurate reports and chairing site meetings in line with company procedures.
Skills:
Considerable experience in Civil Engineering site management within a regulated environment
Working knowledge of contract conditions, including NEC and JCT forms of contract
Strong understanding of CDM regulations, Design Management, Programme and Risk Management
Cost control and commercial awareness including forecasting, actual cost, and value reporting
Knowledge of civil engineering specifications and testing regimes
Excellent communication, leadership, people and team management skills
Ability to challenge designs and resolve technical problems to conclusion
Experience in producing and implementing Project Plans, RAMS, ITPs, and Waste Management Plans
Ability to produce and manage construction programmes and procurement schedules
Client-facing skills with an ambassadorial approach to customer relations
