Mechanical Engineer - The Role:
- Lead technical analysis and concept development within the Engineering team.
- Take responsibility for the structural integrity of hydraulic systems, ensuring compliance with customer, legislative and safety requirements.
- Perform stress, fatigue and non-linear FEA calculations to support design decisions.
- Produce test specifications, acceptance criteria and technical reports.
- Apply relevant standards and design criteria, including Eurocodes.
- Oversee in-house and outsourced engineering activities and conduct design reviews.
- Liaise with customers to confirm scope, manage deliverables and support project delivery.
- Plan and manage engineering programmes, workloads and resources.
- Investigate non-conforming products and drive problem resolution and continuous improvement.
- Support the training and development of engineering staff.
Mechanical Engineer - The Person:
- Degree-qualified in a relevant engineering discipline, with Chartered status desirable.
- Strong knowledge of structural behaviour, materials and fatigue performance.
- Proven experience in design development and FEA, including non-linear analysis.
- Experience applying Eurocodes and assessing structural integrity.
- Familiar with fabricated aluminium and steel structures and manufacturing processes.
- Competent in 3D CAD tools and engineering analysis software.
- Strong analytical, communication and technical reporting skills.
- Well-organised, able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
- Willing to travel in the UK and overseas; holds a full driving licence.
- German language skills are advantageous.
Located in Cheshire, this role would be commutable from Wilmslow, Knutsford, Macclesfield and Alderly Edge and more.
