Location: North West England
Salary: 25-30k depending on experience + generous shift allowance
Employment Type: Permanent, Full-time (3-shift pattern, Monday-Friday)

The Role:
Working as part of the Materials & Testing Laboratory team, you'll support the fabrication, machining, and testing of composite and adhesive materials used in high-performance applications. The role involves delivering critical test data for product development, customer qualifications, problem-solving, and research projects.
Comprehensive training will be provided for those new to the field, while candidates with prior experience in composite testing, adhesives, or materials evaluation are strongly encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities:
Safely perform composite and adhesive panel fabrication, machining, and destructive mechanical testing.
Deliver high-quality test data in accordance with international and customer standards.
Maintain accurate and auditable records of all work performed.
Collaborate effectively across teams, suppliers, and customers to achieve shared objectives.
Uphold strong housekeeping and safety standards at all times.
Experience:
Minimum of 5 GCSEs/O-Levels or A Levels in relevant subjects.
Strong understanding of technical documentation and test specifications.
Competent computer skills (Excel and Word essential).
Excellent teamwork and communication abilities.
Preferred Experience:
HNC/HND (or equivalent) in a relevant field such as materials, mechanical, or manufacturing engineering.
Practical experience in machining, composite fabrication, or mechanical testing (Instron, MTS, Zwick, etc.).
Familiarity with ERP (SAP) or LIMS (LabWare) systems.
Understanding of composite material technologies (resins, reinforcements, adhesives).
Previous experience in an industrial or R&D environment.
