We are an 8-bed mental health crisis service providing short-term, person-centred support to adults experiencing emotional or psychological distress. Our aim is to offer a safe, calming, and therapeutic environment where individuals can stabilise, regain confidence, and move forward with the right support.

About the Role
We are seeking dedicated and compassionate Support Workers to join our team. You will play a vital role in supporting individuals through periods of crisis, helping them develop coping strategies, maintain safety, and access ongoing mental health services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide practical and emotional support to adults experiencing mental health crisis.

  • Work collaboratively with service users to develop personalised safety and support plans.

  • Monitor wellbeing and respond appropriately to changes in mood, presentation, or risk (following clear service protocols).

  • Support individuals with daily living tasks, including meal preparation, self-care routines, and maintaining a safe living environment.

  • Facilitate therapeutic activities and skill-building sessions where appropriate.

  • Maintain accurate daily records, incident reports, and handovers.

  • Liaise with mental health professionals, crisis teams, emergency services, and family members (where appropriate) to ensure joined-up support.

  • Contribute to creating a calm, respectful, and recovery-focused atmosphere within the home.

About You

  • Experience in a similar role is desirable but not essential-full training provided.

  • Calm, empathetic, and resilient, with the ability to remain grounded in challenging or emotionally intense situations.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusting relationships.

  • Understanding of safeguarding, professional boundaries, and confidentiality.

  • Ability to work flexibly, including evenings, weekends, and night shifts.

  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) is required.
