My client, a large, highly-respected Multidisciplinary Consultancy is currently searching for Principal Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant to join their team of engineering and environmental experts, based in the cathedral city of Norwich.

Essential Criteria:

- A Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Geography, Civil Engineering, or similar relevant discipline

- Demonstrable experience within flood risk, flood mitigation, and drainage, including experience with design guidance to align with the relevant regulations and by-laws

- Commercial experience in managing a range of projects

- Experience liaising with a range of clients throughout the public and private sectors, and an acute commercial awareness

- Good working knowledge of software packages, including MicroDrainage/InfoDrainage, AutoCAD, QGIS (and other GIS software), etc.

It would also benefit applicants for the role of Principal Flood Risk and Drainage Consultant to possess the following:

- Chartered Membership of a Professional Body (or actively working to attain Chartered Status)

- Excellent communication skills and experience with stakeholder management

- The ability to prioritise well and remain flexible, with good time management abilities

- Managing a range of projects, from inception through to completion

- Preparation of fee proposals and tenders, making use of both technical and commercial experience

- Producing Flood Risk Assessments, Flood Scoping Reports, and Drainage Strategies

- Leading a large team in producing conceptual drainage design (incorporating SuDS techniques), and production of the relevant drainage plans

- Reviewing reports, calculations, and drawings prepared by colleagues

- Completing Flood Risk Appraisals for clients, providing practical risk mitigation, recommendations, and advice

- Line managing a team of colleagues, with a commitment to overseeing their professional development
