Reed Finance are recruiting exclusively for a Temporary Finance Business Partner to provide high-quality financial, strategic, and business support within our client's organisation. This role is crucial for managing and leading the provision of financial services to various departments as well as ensuring effective budget management, variance analysis, and financial forecasting.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Support the Senior Finance Business Partner in delivering monthly budget monitoring reports, providing accurate and meaningful financial information for decision-making.
- Offer financial expertise to assist and influence budget holders in their decision-making, highlighting opportunities for business performance improvement.
- Collaborate with budget managers to gather information and produce insightful financial analysis aimed at continuous improvement and efficiency.
- Develop and provide ad hoc financial reports and models as required to support service delivery.
- Act as a Finance Lead on project and specialist programme boards, ensuring financial soundness and commercial viability of business cases.
- Promote cost reduction and income generation strategies across the organisation through detailed analysis and benchmarking.
- Investigate and report on revenue budget variances to senior management and councillors, ensuring financial data accuracy and compliance.
- Manage the submission of financial returns and grant claims, interpreting complex legislation and guidelines.
- Drive continuous improvement of financial processes and systems, developing new processes and supporting system implementations as needed.
- Participate in the annual audit and year-end accounts processes, providing necessary documentation and reconciliations.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Proven experience in financial management and business partnering.
- Be immediately available to start on short notice
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to provide financial insights that contribute to strategic decision-making.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Proficiency in financial software and systems, with the ability to adapt to new technologies.
- Knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, and financial compliance requirements.
- Ability to lead and mentor team members, promoting professional development.
