Our client is looking for highly skilled Senior Analysts with expertise in either organic or inorganic analysis to support their laboratory operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare samples as per work schedules.
Generate accurate and timely data in line with client expectations and UKAS standards.
Maintain QC and sample data accurately and orderly, complying with the companies quality systems.
Perform maintenance on analytical instruments and ensure they are in clean and serviceable condition.
Maintain, store, and label adequate stocks of reagents and standards.
Consult with the Divisional Manager regarding turnaround deadlines and resource availability.
Ensure laboratory areas and work surfaces are free from clutter and clean up any spillages immediately.
Assist colleagues in their duties if trained and time permits.
Return samples to appropriate storage areas after testing.
Maintain confidentiality and comply with Health and Safety and ISO14001 requirements.
Qualifications:
Degree or equivalent in a science or related discipline.
Relevant experience with GC-FID, GCMS, LCMS, ICP-MS or ICP-OES within a high throughput environment.
Experience of working within the environmental or related sector.
Strong problem-solving abilities and technical competence.
Intermediate PC literacy.
Detailed knowledge of relevant analytical instrumentation (GC-FID, GCMS, LCMS, ICP-MS or ICP-OES)
Strong numerical and verbal reasoning skills.
