Engineering Team Leader
(Food Manufacturing)
Norfolk

Some leadership roles keep you tied to a desk, moving numbers around a spreadsheet while everyone else fixes the machines - This isn’t one of those.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you’ll still be involved in maintenance, but you’ll also be running the engineering team during shift. You’ll be the one deciding what gets tackled first when two things break at once, making sure downtime is kept to a minimum, and keeping standards high across safety, compliance, and performance.

It’s food manufacturing, so the pace is fast, the kit is varied, and no two shifts look the same.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Leading from the front and supporting a team of engineers on shift
  • Prioritising breakdowns and PPMs to keep production running
  • Troubleshooting and resolving equipment issues (not just delegating them)
  • Driving health & safety standards and making sure they stick
  • Training, coaching, and developing engineers on shift
  • Keeping records straight and supporting continuous improvement

What you’ll need:

  • Experience in an engineering leadership role (food/FMCG preferred)
  • Solid mechanical & electrical knowledge (multi-skilled mindset)
  • Strong leadership skills — you’ll know how to motivate and ideally upskill a team,
  • Calm under pressure, pragmatic, and good at problem-solving
  • A clear communicator who works well with production and other teams

If you’re an engineer who can lead from the front, keep things moving, and set the tone for a high-performing shift, this one’s worth a chat.
