Reed Engineering are currently seeking a dedicated Site Agent to join an Infrastructure team in Norwich. This role is crucial for overseeing the delivery of major highways schemes, ensuring all aspects of design, safety, quality, and environmental management are executed to the highest standards.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Team Management: Manage, supervise, train, and mentor the site team. Ensure effective communication across engineers, supervisors, and client representatives.
  • Design Coordination: Oversee design solutions, ensuring they are delivered right the first time with no in-flight changes. Generate and manage temporary works design briefs.
  • Planning and Programming: Produce detailed lookahead plans, track progress against planned production, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
  • Commercial Management: Write and review subcontract scopes of works during the tender process, support the commercial team in subcontractor assessments, and manage payment applications.
  • Quality Control: Promote and ensure a high standard of quality within the team, creating a culture where quality is a priority.
  • Safety and Environmental Management: Lead by example in health, safety, and environmental management. Conduct regular inspections and implement necessary actions to maintain safety and environmental standards.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or related field, or HND in Civil Engineering with relevant vocational training.
  • Strong communication skills, capable of engaging with diverse audiences.
  • In-depth knowledge of engineering principles and construction methodologies.
  • Familiarity with construction contracts, ideally ECC NEC4.
  • Progress towards or possession of a Professional Industry Qualification (IEng, CEng etc.).
  • Proficiency in digital tools such as MS Office 365 and site management software.
  • Formal training in Health & Safety and Environmental management (SMSTS).
  • CSCS Card.
  • Experience in delivering major highways schemes is essential.
