Multiskilled Mechanical/ Electrical (60/40)

Staffing Innovations is working with a first class manufacturing client leading the way in its field. With significant investment, the company is expanding and looking to increase the size of its Engineering team.

The successful Multiskilled Engineer will be part of a successful team and the role will involve maintenance, tool room and manufacturing engineering. Working closely with the Departmental Manager and Team Leaders, the successful engineer will be responsible for first line maintenance, repairs and servicing of factory assets including manufacturing machinery and ancillary equipment.

Key job elements:

  • Planned maintenance of Manufacturing machinery, including machine and services safety systems
  • Provide effective reactive, preventive, and corrective maintenance of the production and utility equipment and systems.
  • Effective fault finding and problem-solving.
  • PPM Maintenance
  • Identification and sourcing of replacement parts and work to ensure the most cost effective option.
  • Working with other departments to ensure the business priorities are met.
  • Completion of work as requested by the Asset Care Engineering Manager in accordance with the set quality criteria
  • Maintenance of a safe, clean, and tidy work area in cooperation with the other shift workers
  • Correct use of tools and adequate use of the personal protection equipment provided and to adhere to all occupational health & safety instructions given by the business

The successful engineer must have:

  • Health and Safety awareness and formal training in functional legislation
  • Mechanical qualification at approved and certified national competence level
  • Electrical qualification (HNC/HND preferred).
  • Experience of Electrical and Mechanical maintenance in manufacturing operations.
  • Process knowledge of FMCG manufacturing advantageous.
  • Quality Training.
  • Process control.
  • Continuous improvement techniques.
  • Ability to train others.
  • Proactive in fault finding - mechanical (including hydraulic and pneumatic systems) and electrical
  • Business Improvement Techniques
  • Continuous Improvement Projects

Candidates must be a multi skilled Engineer.

Shift Pattern:

This follows one the 24/7 shift pattern ( shift to be decided). Hours are 6am-6pm / 6pm-6am, rotating every 2 weeks - 12 hours, inclusive of 1 hour paid break.

Holiday is 23 days per annum (inclusive of Bank Holidays)

Pension is 4% EE and 4% (min) ER contribution.

Initial induction, plant familiarisation will be given for the first 4-6 weeks with an experienced asset care technician. Further training will be provide as appropriate.
