Project Engineer (MOD) / Norwich / Full-Time Permanent / Up to £38,000 per annum

Position 1 Recruitment is excited to be partnering with a leading engineering and manufacturing business in Norwich, currently looking to hire a Project Engineer (MOD) to support MOD-related projects within their dynamic operations team.

As a Project Engineer (MOD), you’ll be the key contact between internal departments and MOD clients, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to spec. You’ll manage the full project lifecycle from tender handover to completion, while maintaining accurate documentation and strong client relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage end-to-end delivery of MOD engineering projects
• Plan and coordinate internal resources to meet key project deadlines
• Act as the main point of contact for customers throughout the project lifecycle
• Provide regular progress reports and lead project meetings
• Track budgets, timelines, and risk factors, proactively addressing issues
• Maintain clear, up-to-date project documentation
• Liaise with internal teams and stakeholders to ensure alignment
• Support continuous improvement within project processes
• Attend internal and client-facing meetings

The successful Project Engineer will have experience in project engineering or project management within an engineering or manufacturing environment. A degree or HND in Engineering or a related technical field is required, along with strong organisational and communication skills and a solid understanding of project management principles and tools.

Commercial awareness within MOD, Defence, or Oil & Gas sectors is highly beneficial. A project management qualification such as PRINCE2 is desirable. Experience working in an engineering manufacturing setting will be considered an advantage.

This is a permanent, full-time role Monday to Friday with early finish on Friday.
