The Opportunity:
Hexeal is seeking an experienced and motivated Production Manager to lead our manufacturing operations in Norwich. This is a crucial role responsible for ensuring the efficient, safe, and high-quality production of our product range. You will be instrumental in optimising production processes, managing the production and warehouse teams, and contributing to the continued growth and success of the company.
Role Summary:
Reporting directly to The Board, the Production Manager will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the production and warehouse facility, ensuring that production schedules are met, quality standards are met and continuously improved, and health and safety regulations are strictly adhered to. You will lead and mentor the production team, implement process improvements, and manage resources effectively to maximise output and minimise waste.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organise, and oversee daily production activities to ensure timely and efficient manufacturing of products.
- Manage, mentor and lead the production team, including scheduling, performance management, training, and development.
- Monitor production processes and implement adjustments to optimise efficiency and resolve issues.
- Ensure all production activities comply with relevant health and safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
- Work closely with procurement to manage raw material inventory and ensure timely availability for production.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance productivity, reduce costs, and minimise waste.
- Maintain accurate production records and generate reports on production performance for The Board.
- Oversee the maintenance and performance of production equipment and plant.
- Troubleshoot production issues and implement effective corrective actions.
- Foster a positive and proactive work environment focused on safety, quality, and most importantly, teamwork.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a Production Management role within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of production processes, planning, and scheduling.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations relevant to manufacturing (e.g., COSHH, risk assessments).
- Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a strong and dedicated team.
