A specialist SEND school based in Norwich are looking for a Therapist to work with their students. The school will consider a Therapist with a minimum of Level 6 Clinical or Therapeutic qualification in any one of the following:;

  • Counsellor
  • Psychologist,
  • Social worker
  • Psychotherapist
  • Family therapist
  • You will need to be accredited or be working towards accreditation with a relevant professional body (e.g. BACP, BPS, or UKCP

As a Student/Child Therapist

You will need to understand the therapeutic needs of children who may have mental health problems (e.g. anxiety, depression, PTSD), school-related anxieties or refusal, SEN, extremely low academic confidence and self-esteem, and to adjust the therapeutic approach to meet individual student needs;

Be able to deliver therapy sessions to students via face to face sessions in the school

Keep professional confidential notes after each session

Work with other professional bodies

Be confident to assess when a child/young person may be at risk and take the appropriate Safeguarding issues

Qualifications & experience for the role

Ideally you will be Degree educated but must be a minimum of Level 6 or above

Have previous specialist experience of working with young people with trauma and SEMH

Good understanding of Relational and Restorative approaches

Non judgemental and to be supportive and encouraging

Maintain personal and professional boundaries
