**Quantity Surveyor / Estimator**
Are you a detail-driven, results-oriented estimator with a passion for the facades or general construction industry? Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two projects are the same? Our client is seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor / Estimator to join their team in Norwich, Norfolk.
**Are you the right person for the job?**
• A minimum of 3 years’ experience in estimation or a related field, preferably within the UK construction sector.
• Valid UK driving license.
• Familiarity with estimating software and proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Understanding of construction contracts, procurement strategies, and cost management practices.
• Capability to work autonomously and manage your own workload effectively.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills for successful interactions with clients, contractors, and colleagues.
• Exceptional attention to detail, with the ability to prioritise and juggle multiple projects at once.
• Strong problem-solving abilities to identify challenges and propose practical solutions throughout the estimation process.
• Ideally qualified or possess equivalent experience in the development and implementation of business processes.
• Construction experience across commercial, residential, and private sectors.
• Knowledge of various contract conditions, with solid experience in JCT Traditional Forms of Contract, JCT Design & Build Contracts, and the NEC suite of contracts.
**What will your role look like?**
- Conduct on-site inspections to assess projects and gather necessary information.
- Take accurate measurements and document existing conditions.
- Analyse project requirements, including materials, labour, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals based on project specifications and client requirements.
- Liaise with suppliers and subcontractors to achieve competitive quotes.
- Review and negotiate contracts and agreements with clients and subcontractors.
- Attend pre-start project meetings and meetings as works progress to ensure accurate valuations.
- Prepare and present detailed proposals and bids to clients, ensuring alignment with project specifications and budgetary constraints.
