We are seeking a dedicated and empathetic Complex Needs Teaching Assistant to join our inclusive and nurturing school community. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting children with complex needs to thrive in an educational setting.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Work closely with teachers and support staff to provide tailored support to pupils with a range of additional needs, including Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC), Moderate to Severe Learning Difficulties, Speech, Language and Communication Needs, Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges, and Physical or sensory impairments.
- Support pupils 1:1 or in small groups to access the curriculum.
- Assist with personal care and mobility where required.
- Implement individual education and behaviour plans.
- Promote independence, confidence, and emotional wellbeing.
- Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure comprehensive support.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Experience working with children or young people with complex needs in education, care, or voluntary settings.
- A calm, patient, and adaptable approach to challenging situations.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of pupils.
- Relevant qualifications such as CACHE Level 2/3, Teaching Assistant Certificate, or equivalent are desirable but not essential.
