We're delighted to be working with a well-established, multi-disciplinary engineering consultancy who are looking to appoint an Associate Structural Engineer to join their expanding Nottingham office.
The company employs over 100 staff nationwide, with a talented structural team of 10 in the Nottingham office. Working collaboratively with teams across the UK, you'll have the opportunity to lead major design projects and help shape the continued success of this thriving business.
The Role
As Associate Structural Engineer, you will take the lead on a range of exciting projects including large-scale residential developments, apartment schemes, high-rise structures, education facilities, leisure centres, and more. You'll be responsible for technical leadership, client liaison, project management, and mentoring junior engineers within the team.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the structural design and delivery of projects across multiple sectors.
Provide technical input and oversee design quality on complex engineering schemes.
Manage and nurture client relationships, ensuring high standards of service.
Support, mentor, and train junior members of the structural team.
Collaborate with other offices and disciplines within the business to deliver coordinated project outcomes.
Contribute to business growth and development, with the opportunity to progress towards Associate Director level.
Experience & Qualifications
Minimum 7 years' experience in structural design within residential, commercial, retail, leisure, or education sectors.
Strong technical design skills with a proven track record of delivering complex projects.
Experience leading project teams and managing design processes.
Excellent client-facing and communication skills.
Chartered or near-Chartered Engineer (MIStructE or MICE preferred).
Proficiency with relevant design software (e.g. Tekla, Revit, TEDDS, etc.) is advantageous.
