Overview

We are seeking detail-oriented and skilled Hand Solderers to join our client`s dynamic team. In this role, you will apply your expertise in soldering techniques for assembling and repairing electronic components, focusing on circuit boards and other electronic equipment. Responsibilities
  • Perform hand soldering of through-hole and surface-mount components to circuit boards, ensuring quality and precision.
  • Read and interpret schematics, assembly instructions, and other technical documentation.
  • Inspect and verify solder joints against quality standards, identifying defects and performing rework as needed.
  • Operate soldering and desoldering tools, such as soldering irons, tweezers, and heat guns.
  • Collaborate with team members and other departments to ensure communication and coordination throughout the production process.
  • Maintain adherence to quality assurance procedures, including ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) safety standards.
  • Complete tasks within tight production deadlines while complying with all safety protocols and workplace regulations.
  • Document work performed, including troubleshooting notes and rework activities, in a clear and organized manner.
Qualifications Required:
  • Proven experience in hand soldering, including soldering of small, intricate components.
  • Strong understanding of soldering techniques, material properties, and industry-standard processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, assembly drawings, and wiring diagrams.
  • Familiarity with working on telecommunications equipment or related electronic assemblies.
  • Excellent manual dexterity and attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an awareness of quality control practices.
Preferred:
  • Experience with rework of circuit boards and identifying common soldering defects.
  • Knowledge of basic electronics terminology and troubleshooting principles.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently or collaboratively within a team.
Day-to-Day

Your typical day will include:

  • Soldering delicate components onto circuit boards using precision tools.
  • Verifying the quality of completed projects by carefully inspecting solder joints and resolving any defects found.
  • Collaborating with engineers, technicians, and other team members to troubleshoot technical challenges and enhance processes.
  • Staying organized by maintaining detailed records of soldered components and rework performed.
  • Working in an inviting, safety-focused environment with peers who share your passion for attention to detail.

The shift times are 07:00 - 17:15 Monday to Thursday, the basic pay rate is £13.00/h.
