Senior Engineer - Permanent

Location: Lowdham

We're currently seeking an experienced Senior Engineer to join a well-established contractor on a major Flood Alleviation Scheme based in Lowdham. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in a long-term infrastructure project while being part of a supportive and forward-thinking team in the Northern Region.

The Role:

As Senior Engineer, you'll take the lead on technical aspects of the project, ensuring the works are delivered in line with the specification and maintaining quality through meticulous ITP planning and record keeping. You'll also be instrumental in mentoring junior engineers and coordinating design changes throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Independently manage daily setting out activities
  • Mentor and support Junior Engineers
  • Oversee and maintain performance testing records in line with project requirements
  • Create risk assessments and method statements
  • Manage site service drawings and issue permits as needed
  • Assist the Project Manager and QS with record-keeping for claims and commercial purposes
  • Oversee and control temporary works
  • Build strong relationships with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors
  • Ensure all activities adhere to quality, safety, and environmental standards

What We're Looking For:

We're after a proactive and solutions-driven professional with excellent communication skills and a strong background in infrastructure projects such as roads, highways, and earthworks.

You should have:

  • Proven setting out experience
  • Proficiency with Leica/Geomax equipment and transferring data from AutoCAD
  • A solid understanding of ITPs and quality assurance processes
  • Strong leadership capabilities and knowledge of best construction practices
  • Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel within the Eastern region
  • First Aid at Work (desirable)
