My client, a high-profile, well-respected Multidisciplinary Consultancy is currently searching for a Senior Traffic Engineer to join their accomplished team of expert engineers, based in the lively city of Nottingham.
Essential Criteria:
- Extensive experience consulting, having developed skills across a range of projects
- A Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Urban Planning, or similar relevant discipline
- Demonstrable experience of producing traffic models, including aspects of infrastructure planning and impact assessments
- Experience of industry-based project management
- Knowledge of the relevant section agreements, such as S278, S38, etc., and other industry standards
- Experience of managing stakeholders across the public and private sectors, with commercial knowledge and awareness
- Good working knowledge of a range of relevant software packages
It would also be beneficial for applicants for the role of Senior Traffic Engineer to possess the following:
- Chartered Membership of a recognised Professional Body (or proactively working to attain Chartered Status)
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- Good time management skills, with the ability to remain flexible and adaptable when working across a range of complex projects
- A willingness to engage with a variety of projects, with a view to proactively developing your career
In the diverse role of Senior Traffic Engineer, you will join an expert team of engineers and designers within the industry. You will be encouraged to develop your repertoire of skills through Continuing Professional Development (CPD). The role will involve several responsibilities, including:
- Overseeing a range of design projects at all stages of the process, from inception through to successful delivery
- Preparation of fee proposals and tenders, drawing upon technical and commercial experience
- Gathering data on characteristics of roads, traffic flow, etc., and using this to develop models
- Leading your team in calibrating and validating a range of traffic patterns
- Reviewing a number of reports, calculations, and drawings
- Providing risk mitigations, recommendations, and commercial advice to a number of clients
