Company Overview
We are a well-established and respected civil engineering contractor based in Nottingham, delivering a wide range of infrastructure and groundworks projects across the region. Our portfolio includes commercial, industrial, residential, and public sector schemes. With continued growth, we are now looking to appoint a Civils Estimator to support our pre-construction and commercial teams.
The Role
As a Civils Estimator, you will play a key role in preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for civil engineering projects, from initial tender through to submission. You will liaise closely with clients, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure estimates are aligned with scope, design, and budgetary requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil engineering projects including groundworks, drainage, roads, and associated infrastructure.

Analyse drawings, specifications, and other documentation to prepare comprehensive bids.

Liaise with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain accurate pricing.

Attend site visits and pre-tender meetings when necessary.

Identify risks, opportunities, and value engineering options during the tender process.

Work closely with project managers and the commercial team to ensure alignment with company targets and strategies.

Maintain and update historical cost data and pricing libraries.
Requirements

Proven experience as an estimator in the civil engineering or groundworks sector.

Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and industry standards.

Excellent numerical and analytical skills with attention to detail.

Proficiency in estimating software and Microsoft Excel.

Strong communication and negotiation skills.

Ability to work independently and manage multiple tenders simultaneously.

Full UK driving licence (site visits may be required).
