The Company

My client is a leading MV switchgear & Substation manufacturer., working with customers within the Marine, Naval, Rail and Utility sectors.

They have an established team of experienced switchgear specialists and create bespoke and innovative equipment for major projects.

What Do They Need?

They require a suitably experienced Panel Wirer to join their established production team in Nottingham.

What Will You Do Day to Day?

This role requires the accurate and timely completion of panels and controls for projects. Which includes:

  • Preparation of wires for fitting into control and relay panels, by following wiring schematics and engineering drawings.
  • Crimping and cutting wires to length and labelling up fitted wiring.
  • Before final tests, you’ll work with colleagues to check each other’s work
  • You’ll also work with other disciplines (mechanical, testing, quality etc.) to ensure that the finished work is up to standard and ready for fitting on site.

What do you need?

Obviously, there are a few things you’ll need in your locker, in order to be considered.

  • Suitable and relevant experience within panel and controls wiring.
  • A proven ability to carry out wiring of control and relay panels to a very high standard.
  • A strong understanding of Schematic drawings and G/A drawings and be able to identify components and understand instructions.
  • Be able to use typical hand-tools, such as wire strippers, crimping tools etc.
  • Must have a right to work permanently in the UK without timing restrictions

It would also be beneficial if you carry:

  • Effective communication (verbal and written)
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to work effectively.
  • Able to take instructions and ask if unsure or if you require clarification.
  • The ability to support a continuous improvement and best practice environment
  • An ability to identify and communicate potential issues and suggest solutions.
  • A willingness to work overtime (at enhanced rates) to ensure projects are delivered on time.

Please be aware that you must ALREADY be within a reasonable commute of the Nottingham operation, WITHOUT having to relocate.  This is a prerequisite, with no exceptions.
