Electronics Design Engineer to drive improvements in quality, efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

With around 90 employees, including a strong production team and a multi-disciplinary engineering team, the company has a friendly and collaborative work environment. Recently becoming employee-owned, they have a culture that encourages input and growth from all team members.

The Role:

We are seeking a skilled Electronics Design Engineer to join their engineering team, reporting to the Lead Electrical Engineer. The focus of this role is on hardware (80%) with a smaller element of firmware development (20%), and the successful candidate will work on a range of exciting projects including new product development and modernising existing product lines.

You'll work closely with a small, experienced team to develop robust, future-proof solutions that are reliable and easily maintainable. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong electronics background who enjoys working in a supportive environment where ideas and innovation are encouraged.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Full design lifecycle work: schematic capture, hardware design, PCB layout, and testing.
  • Designing and developing electronic systems including ADC conversion, USB interfaces, SPI communication, thermal couplings, and signal conditioning.
  • Collaborating with mechanical engineers on concept development.
  • Modernising existing products with updated electronics solutions.
  • Producing schematics, layouts, and associated documentation.
  • Occasional firmware development and updates (training available if required).
  • Using KeyCAD for design work (bonus for experience with ESP32 or PIC microcontrollers).

What We’re Looking For:

  • An experienced Electronics Engineer with at least 5 years' experience in a design role.
  • Strong hands-on experience across the full design and test process of analogue and digital electronics.
  • Ability to work independently in a small, collaborative team.
  • Someone who is wanting to be the “go-to” person for all things electronics in the business
  • Proficiency with schematic capture, PCB layout, and electronic hardware testing.
  • A people-person who is happy to work as part of a small team and contribute to a friendly, open culture.

The Benefits:

  • Competitive Salary Package of up to £45,000 depending on experience.
  • Working Hours: 8:00am – 4:30pm (Mon–Thu) and 8:00am – 1:00pm (Friday).
  • Hybrid working up to 2 days from home for the right candidate
