Product Specification Technologist

Reed is collaborating with a rapidly growing family-owned business who are looking for a Product Specification Technologist. This role is crucial in ensuring that all customer specifications, pack copies, artwork, and other related documents are accurately set up and maintained. You will be working closely with both the Technical and New Product Development (NPD) teams in a fast-paced and varied environment.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Ensure all customer documentation is produced to meet critical path timescales and launch deadlines.
  • Maintain accuracy, legal compliance, and alignment with customer labelling policies across all documents.
  • Manage multiple tasks with often conflicting priorities and deliver results to strict deadlines.
  • Transfer data accurately and clearly into specifications from provided information.
  • Support tasks within the Technical team, including assistance during customer or regulatory audits.
  • Adapt to changing regulatory requirements and operational needs.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, comfortable dealing with people at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Competency in IT software including Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and SharePoint.
  • Strong working knowledge of food and drink labelling regulations; formal training in this area is beneficial.
  • Experience in a similar role within food manufacturing and knowledge of specification completion for retailers.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, depending on project needs.
  • Strong attention to detail with a "Right First Time" attitude.
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing requirements.
