Key Responsibilities
- Provide1:1 and small group supportfor pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
- Assist teachers in deliveringstructured, engaging, and differentiated learning activities
- Implement strategies to promotepositive communication, independence, and social interaction
- Support emotional regulation and wellbeing usingpositive behaviour supporttechniques
- Help to create a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment
- Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure a consistent approach
- Contribute to classroom preparation, record-keeping, and progress reviews
Requirements
- Previous experience supporting young people withASC or complex communication needs(essential)
- Anurturing, patient, and adaptableapproach to working with children and young people
- Strong understanding ofautism support strategies, including PECS, Makaton, or sensory-based approaches (highly advantageous)
- Relevant qualification such asLevel 2/3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, or equivalent
- Ability to work effectively within amultidisciplinary SEN team
- Enhanced DBSon the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
