Key Responsibilities

  • Provide1:1 and small group supportfor pupils with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC)
  • Assist teachers in deliveringstructured, engaging, and differentiated learning activities
  • Implement strategies to promotepositive communication, independence, and social interaction
  • Support emotional regulation and wellbeing usingpositive behaviour supporttechniques
  • Help to create a calm, safe, and inclusive learning environment
  • Work collaboratively with teachers, therapists, and support staff to ensure a consistent approach
  • Contribute to classroom preparation, record-keeping, and progress reviews

Requirements

  • Previous experience supporting young people withASC or complex communication needs(essential)
  • Anurturing, patient, and adaptableapproach to working with children and young people
  • Strong understanding ofautism support strategies, including PECS, Makaton, or sensory-based approaches (highly advantageous)
  • Relevant qualification such asLevel 2/3 Teaching Assistant, CACHE, or equivalent
  • Ability to work effectively within amultidisciplinary SEN team
  • Enhanced DBSon the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one)
