About the Role

We're looking for a Teaching Assistant to support a Year 7 pupil at a secondary school in Nottingham. The school is Ofsted rated 'Good' and has a strong reputation for being calm, welcoming and supportive.

This is a 1:1 support role, working closely with one student who needs help with behaviour, confidence and settling into school life. You'll also provide some general classroom support to other students when needed.

It's a hands-on role where patience and consistency are key.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Provide 1:1 support to a Year 7 pupil to help them regulate behaviour, manage transitions and engage in learning
  • Implement positive behaviour strategies and maintain clear routines
  • Support the student to develop confidence, independence and positive peer relationships
  • Assist with learning activities and general classroom support when required
  • Build effective relationships with staff, parents and pastoral teams to support consistent progress

What We're Looking For

  • Some experience supporting young people, ideally in a school, SEN or behaviour role
  • Confidence managing challenging behaviour in a calm way
  • Strong communication and a supportive, patient approach
  • An Enhanced DBS or willingness to get one
