Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Contract & Commercial Manager to manage a high-profile government contract. This role involves overseeing the full contract lifecycle, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and contractual terms. You will draft, review, and negotiate agreements (including SLAs and KPIs), and work closely with operational teams to ensure seamless contract performance.
The successful candidate will conduct performance reviews, deliver accurate reports, and identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings. Strong negotiation and stakeholder management skills are essential to mitigate risks, resolve disputes, and drive successful outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle, ensuring compliance with legal requirements and terms.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contract agreements, including SLAs, KPIs, and statements of work.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Collaborate with operational teams to address contract-related issues and ensure efficient delivery.
- Conduct regular performance reviews and propose corrective actions where needed.
- Prepare and deliver accurate performance reports and metrics to stakeholders.
- Mitigate risks and resolve disputes using strong negotiation and problem-solving skills.
- Stay updated on legal and regulatory changes impacting contracts.
- Identify opportunities to enhance performance, streamline processes, and achieve cost savings.
Essential Criteria:
- Educated to degree level or equivalent.
- Sound knowledge of UK contract law, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Experience in contract drafting, interpretation, and negotiation.
- Demonstrable experience managing SLAs, KPIs, and performance reporting in complex environments.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
- Exceptional communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
Desirable Criteria:
- Experience in government or justice sector contracts.
- Knowledge of Procurement Act 2023 requirements.
- Background in commercial management within large-scale programmes.
