Sonic Summary
- We are looking for a Fabrication Planning Engineer with strong problem-solving skills and a comprehensive understanding of engineering drawings.
- The ideal candidate should have previous experience in a CNC machine shop or fabrication environment, preferably in the aerospace industry.
- This position does not require staff management, as a dedicated supervisor is already in place.
- Candidates should possess an apprentice-trained qualification or higher and have excellent communication skills.
- The salary for this role is competitive, and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required.
Key Skills and Experience:
Strong problem-solving skills within an engineering environment
Comprehensive understanding of engineering drawings, including material specifications, treatments, assembly methods, and geometric tolerancing
Excellent communication skills
Previous experience in a CNC machine shop or fabrication environment
Apprentice trained or higher qualification
Experience within the aerospace industry
Role Expectations:
Review and contract-check all incoming orders entered into our MRP system
Assess production notes and drawings associated with purchase orders to confirm feasibility
Ensure all documentation is complete and confirmation sign-off is recorded in the MRP system
Communicate with customers regarding any requirements that cannot be met
Advise the programming team of any customer-specific tooling requirements to ensure timely preparation
Use the MRP system to plan routings and BOMs, ensuring that work orders are production-ready on schedule
Maintain and regularly update the engineering on-hold log, communicating relevant information to the necessary personnel
