Are you an organised and proactive administrator looking to take the next step in your career?The role is for a well-established, medium-sized family-run legal practice based in Nottingham who are looking for a Legal Administrator to join their busy Family and Children Law department.

The role offers a supportive and close-knit team environment seeking someone who shares the same values of professionalism, care, and attention to detail.

About the RoleThis is a varied administrative role, supporting a team of solicitors and fee earners with day-to-day case management and client contact. Prior experience within a legal setting would be advantageous but is not essential, as full training will be provided for the right candidate. Strong administration skills and a methodical approach are key.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Processing Legal Aid applications and handling amendments using the Client and Cost Management System (CCMS)

  • Creating and copying legal bundles for court hearings

  • Managing diaries and scheduling court dates, meetings, and deadlines

  • Drafting standard letters and basic court documents

  • Booking and setting up client appointments

  • Communicating with clients, courts, and external professionals via telephone, email, and in person

  • Chasing outstanding documentation and supporting billing tasks

  • Opening and closing case files in line with firm and legal guidelines

  • General filing and administrative support as required

What We’re Looking For:

  • Excellent administrative and organisational skills

  • A confident and professional communication style

  • Strong attention to detail and time management

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)

  • Previous legal admin experience or CCMS knowledge is helpful but not essential or you may have a Law Degree but looking to work in an admin environment!
