A long-established and respected legal services provider in the East Midlands, specialising in Criminal Law, Family Law, Personal Injury, Public Law, and Community Care, is seeking to recruit a dedicated Legal Administrator to join their busy Criminal Law department based in Nottingham City Centre.

This opportunity is ideal for an organised and detail-focused administrator with a proactive approach and a strong interest in the legal sector. While previous experience as a legal administrator is preferred, it is not essential as full training will be provided.

Key Responsibilities of the Legal Administrator include:

  • Processing legal aid applications and amendments accurately and efficiently

  • Managing online diaries for legal hearings, filing deadlines, and appointments

  • Drafting basic legal documents and standard correspondence with precision

  • Processing invoices in line with internal legal office procedures

  • Monitoring and logging incoming legal and departmental communications

  • Reconciling daily and weekly court lists against internal legal systems

  • Chasing outstanding documentation to ensure legal records are complete

  • Scheduling client appointments and internal legal meetings

  • Liaising professionally with clients, courts, and external parties on legal matters

  • Opening and closing physical case files according to legal office protocols

  • Taking minutes during legal team or departmental meetings

  • Highlighting hearings and meetings for appropriate allocation within the legal team

The ideal candidate for the Legal Administrator role will demonstrate:

  • Exceptional organisational and administrative skills suited to a fast-paced legal environment

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills tailored to legal documentation and client interaction

  • The ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently as a reliable legal administrator

  • Previous experience working as a legal administrator or in a legal setting is advantageous but not required

  • Professionalism, confidence, and courtesy when handling sensitive legal and client communications

  • Enthusiasm with a willingness to learn and develop as a legal administrator
