A long-established and respected legal services provider in the East Midlands, specialising in Criminal Law, Family Law, Personal Injury, Public Law, and Community Care, is seeking to recruit a dedicated Legal Administrator to join their busy Criminal Law department based in Nottingham City Centre.
This opportunity is ideal for an organised and detail-focused administrator with a proactive approach and a strong interest in the legal sector. While previous experience as a legal administrator is preferred, it is not essential as full training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities of the Legal Administrator include:

Processing legal aid applications and amendments accurately and efficiently

Managing online diaries for legal hearings, filing deadlines, and appointments

Drafting basic legal documents and standard correspondence with precision

Processing invoices in line with internal legal office procedures

Monitoring and logging incoming legal and departmental communications

Reconciling daily and weekly court lists against internal legal systems

Chasing outstanding documentation to ensure legal records are complete
-
Scheduling client appointments and internal legal meetings
-
Liaising professionally with clients, courts, and external parties on legal matters

Opening and closing physical case files according to legal office protocols

Taking minutes during legal team or departmental meetings

Highlighting hearings and meetings for appropriate allocation within the legal team
The ideal candidate for the Legal Administrator role will demonstrate:

Previous experience working as a legal administrator or in a legal setting is advantageous but not required
