Job Title: Crime Paralegal(Open to Trainee Solicitors and NQ Solicitors)

Overview:We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Crime Paralegal to join a busy public sector litigation team. This is a varied role covering case preparation, court document drafting, liaison with key stakeholders, and assisting solicitors across a wide range of matters. The position is also open to applications from Trainee Solicitors or recently qualified Solicitors seeking to broaden their litigation experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support solicitors with the preparation and progression of cases, ensuring compliance with all court rules, directions, and deadlines.

  • Draft and proofread legal documents, including applications, witness statements, case management orders, and correspondence.

  • Arrange and coordinate services such as DNA/drug/alcohol testing, interpreters, translations, expert reports, and disclosure.

  • Prepare and paginate court bundles and manage case files from initial instruction to conclusion.

  • Liaise with counsel, court staff, expert witnesses, and other external agencies to progress matters efficiently.

  • Attend hearings, conferences, and meetings to take detailed notes and assist with follow-up actions.

  • Conduct legal research to support litigation, policy work, and governance matters.

  • Provide administrative and organisational support to the wider legal and compliance team.

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in a legal environment, ideally with exposure to litigation, criminal law, or public sector legal work.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage a busy workload under pressure.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with legal case management systems.

  • A methodical and accurate approach to work.
