The successful candidate will be responsible for handling all aspects of Legal Aid billing and cost recovery, supporting the firm’s busy and high-performing team.Key responsibilities include:
  • Drafting and submitting Legal Aid bills, including legal helps, payments on account, and final bills
  • Confident use of CCMS and understanding of Legal Aid Agency systems
  • Preparing and negotiating high cost case plans
  • Managing cost recovery processes including appeals
  • Working closely with fee earners to ensure accurate and timely billing
  • Ensuring compliance with Legal Aid KPIs, rules, and internal billing systems
  • Experience with CostMaster and digital case management systems preferred
YouThis position would suit a skilled and confident legal costs professional with experience in Legal Aid billing and cost management.The ideal candidate will bring:
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong experience in drafting all types of bills and costs
  • Confident negotiation abilities
  • Good understanding of the assessment and recovery of solicitors’ costs
  • Working knowledge of basic accounting principles
  • Proficiency in digital billing tools and case management systems
