Overview

Robert Walters is delighted to be partnering with a well-established public sector client to recruit an Equipment & Logistics Supervisor. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced logistics or stores professional to take on a critical supervisory role, ensuring the efficient, safe, and compliant management of operational tools and equipment used by housing trade teams across the city.

Job Purpose

To manage and oversee the distribution, maintenance, and compliance of tools, plant, and equipment used by Housing Services. The role supports operational teams by ensuring all equipment is safe, available, and properly recorded, while leading day-to-day logistics activity and supervising stores staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise equipment stores and support front line staff with equipment issues.

  • Ensure all plant and tools are maintained, tested, and documented in line with legal and safety standards.

  • Keep accurate stock records and track equipment usage across teams.

  • Conduct site checks to ensure safe and authorised use of tools and equipment.

  • Report on stock levels, servicing schedules, and asset compliance.

  • Work with managers to prepare for new projects, staff, or service needs.

  • Assist with investigating lost or damaged items and cost recovery.

Person Requirements
  • Experience in logistics, stock control, or equipment stores

  • Knowledge of health and safety in a practical environment

  • Strong organisational and communication skills

  • Ability to supervise staff and coordinate daily activity

  • Confident using digital systems and asset tracking tools

  • Valid UK driving licence
