Fleet and Plant Manager

£37,317 - £42,878 per annum

We’re looking for a highly organised and knowledgeable Fleet and Plant Manager to lead the management of NCHA’s fleet operations. This includes corporate-owned, leased, and grey fleet vehicles, as well as plant and machinery used across our Assets and Property Services teams.

You’ll be instrumental in shaping our fleet strategy, ensuring compliance with legislation and health and safety standards, and driving sustainability and efficiency across the fleet.

Key Responsibilities

We are seeking a forward-thinking Fleet Manager to lead the strategic development of our fleet and plant operations. In this role, you will oversee the procurement, maintenance and disposal of equipment, whilst implementing robust fleet policies aligned with health and safety, environmental and regulatory standards. You will manage leasing agreements and supplier relationships to ensure optimal value, monitor grey fleet compliance and champion environmental targets including carbon reduction and green fleet initiatives. The successful candidate will drive innovation, including the transition to electric vehicles (EVs) and lead the adoption of fleet management technologies. You will be responsible for managing fleet budgets, fuel usage, accident processes and supporting operational teams with vehicle and plant availability. Additionally, you will provide training to drivers, function as the key contact for regulatory bodies, insurers and auditors and oversee the Fleet Administrator, including recruitment and development.
