We are currently working on a great new opportunity for a Days only Maintenance Engineer to join a well-established manufacturing business in South Nottingham.
This is a new position, and as the Maintenance Engineer you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a range of site machinery, equipment, and facilities to support Production, Warehouse, and Quality operations. The role involves a mix of hands-on repairs and coordination with external contractors, depending on service agreements in place.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:30, early finish on a Friday (some flex on start / finish times)
Key Responsibilities of Maintenance Engineer:
- Carry out mechanical and electrical maintenance and repairs across the site
- Manage contractor work where applicable, depending on equipment service contracts
- Complete both routine tasks (e.g. replacing light bulbs) and more complex electrical/mechanical repairs
- Perform preventative maintenance (PPM) and ensure plant equipment runs efficiently
Candidate Requirements for Maintenance Engineer:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in equipment maintenance within a manufacturing setting
- Strong mechanical and electrical skill set; experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, CNC machines, and control circuits is highly desirable
- Comfortable with a broad range of tasks, from basic facility upkeep to more technical troubleshooting
- Ability to read mechanical/electrical schematics
- Vocational training or relevant certifications are ideal
