To be considered for the role, you’ll require the following essentials:

  • Proven experience in a Maintenance Engineer role within a food manufacturing environment.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge, with experience working on electrical components such as motors, solenoids, VFDs, and three-phase machinery.
  • Ability to diagnose faults and repair mechanical and electrical systems efficiently.
  • Good understanding of health & safety legislation and food industry compliance.
  • Ability to work under pressure in a dynamic production environment.
  • Experience working with automation, PLCs, pneumatics, and hydraulics is highly desirable.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with teams.

Within this position, you’ll also be:

  • Perform routine planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and respond to reactive maintenance needs across the site.
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and control system faults to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure compliance with health & safety regulations and food safety standards.
  • Maintain, repair, and optimize production machinery including conveyors, mixers, packaging machines, and automation systems.
  • Assist in the installation and commissioning of new equipment to support production growth.
  • Identify and implement efficiency improvements to enhance overall equipment performance.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and update logs to ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Support production teams by providing technical advice and solutions for equipment-related issues.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior team members to develop their technical skills.

Salary & Working Hours

Salary is £45,000 per annum

Hours – Monday to Friday 6am-3pm and 10am-7pm rotating
