Are you a confident and experienced leader with a passion for compliance, innovation and sustainability in mechanical and electrical services? NCHA is looking for an Operations Manager – Mechanical & Electrical to lead a high-performing team and drive excellence across our housing portfolio.

About the Role

As Operations Manager, you will oversee the delivery of planned and responsive M&E services, ensuring full compliance across gas, electrical and renewable energy systems. You’ll play a key role in shaping our energy strategy, improving service standards and supporting our journey towards a greener future.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage M&E operations including gas, solid fuel, heating and electrical services
  • Ensure 100% compliance with gas and electrical safety regulations
  • Support the rollout of renewable technologies (solar PV, EV charging, battery storage)
  • Monitor contractor performance and drive service improvements
  • Design and manage budgets, reporting and health & safety compliance
  • Inspire and develop a skilled, motivated team

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for someone with strong technical knowledge in mechanical and electrical services, ideally supported by relevant qualifications in gas, electrical or energy disciplines. You’ll bring proven leadership experience within housing, property or compliance settings, along with excellent communication skills and confidence in managing contracts and making data-driven decisions. A collaborative and solution-focused mindset is essential, as is the ability to identify service improvements and see them through.
