The Opportunity


We are currently recruiting for a Lighting Technician to join a leading facilities management provider, delivering high-quality planned maintenance and emergency repair work across supermarket stores. This role offers a fantastic opportunity for an experienced professional to work within a dynamic team and contribute to maintaining high standards of lighting efficiency and safety.



Key Responsibilities


  • Conduct planned maintenance repairs on store lighting systems, ensuring compliance with company and health & safety standards.

  • Develop and maintain professional relationships with supermarket colleagues and internal teams.

  • Complete PPM schedules within agreed timelines and ensure all documentation is accurately completed.

  • Respond promptly to service call requests, assessing and executing necessary repairs efficiently.

  • Prioritise maintenance tasks to meet agreed response times.

  • Order necessary parts and equipment, following company procedures.

  • Manage the hiring and use of plant and equipment as required.

  • Identify non-repairable lighting faults and provide recommendations for replacements.

  • Report any maintenance issues affecting store operations to the appropriate contacts.

  • Support other lighting technicians as required and collaborate with the wider facilities team.

  • Supervise and guide Lighting Mates, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards.

  • Stay updated with training and industry developments to maintain competency.


Requirements



Essential:


  • Recognised electrical qualification.

  • 18th Edition Wiring Regulations certification.

  • Experience in lighting maintenance and repair, including various lighting types (e.g., filament, fluorescent, mercury vapour, sodium, low voltage, car park lighting).

  • Proficiency in using steps, ladders, and high-access equipment.

  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

  • Customer-focused and self-motivated with a proactive attitude.

  • Full UK driving licence.


Desirable:


  • IPAF 1b, 3a, and 3b certification.

  • Previous experience working within retail environments.
