Site Manager: Commercial Re-Roofing & Scaffold Package - Nottingham Regeneration

We are seeking an experienced and technically proficient Site Manager to take ownership of a critical external package within a major regeneration scheme in Nottingham. This role focuses heavily on managing specialized scaffolding, re-roofing, and ensuring public safety on a row of live commercial properties (shops).

The Role

You will be the Number 1 Site Manager responsible for the complete lifecycle of the scaffold erection, re-roofing, and external faade works on a row of five commercial units/shops.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Scaffolding & Access Management: Acting as the primary point of contact for the scaffolding contractor. Overseeing the design, erection, inspection (including basic/advanced inspections), and safe dismantling of complex scaffolds on a commercial street.
  • Re-Roofing Delivery: Managing the full re-roofing package, including strip-out, structural repairs (if needed), waterproofing, and final finishing of the new roof system.
  • Public Safety & Logistics: Maintaining strict health and safety controls in a live, public-facing environment (commercial street/shopping parade). Managing traffic control, restricting access, and mitigating noise/dust for businesses and the public.
  • Programme Management: Ensuring the package is delivered on schedule to avoid impacting the trading hours or opening dates of the commercial tenants.
  • Quality Control: Guaranteeing all roofing and faade works are completed to the highest standards and meet all relevant building control specifications.
  • Documentation: Responsible for all site records, permits, RAMS review, and daily/weekly progress reporting.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience as a Site Manager or Package Manager specializing in external envelope works, including re-roofing and faade refurbishment.
  • Demonstrable experience managing complex scaffolding and access solutions on constrained sites or public highways.
  • Familiarity with working on live commercial or retail properties where mitigating disruption is paramount.
  • Must hold valid certification including: SMSTS, CSCS (Site Manager level), First Aid at Work, and ideally, Scaffold Coordinator/Basic Inspection certification.
  • Based locally in the Nottingham/East Midlands area and seeking a position within daily commute.
