The Role
We are looking for a dedicated and motivated Geography Teacher to deliver engaging and high-quality lessons across KS3 and KS4. You’ll have the opportunity to spark curiosity, inspire learning, and make a real impact in the classroom. This is a full-time role, starting on a temporary basis with a clear pathway to a permanent contract for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver creative, well-structured geography lessons
- Assess, monitor, and support student progress
- Contribute to curriculum development within the department
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers to support student wellbeing and achievement
Minimum Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must have:
- Experience: At least 1–2 years of secondary teaching experience, including solid understanding of the Geography curriculum
- Qualifications: A relevant degree in Geography or a related field, plus QTS
- Training:Â Strong classroom management skills and experience with differentiated instruction; understanding of safeguarding
- Skills:Â Excellent communication, organisation, and the ability to inspire and motivate students
- Compliance:
- Right to work in the UK
- Enhanced Child Workforce DBSÂ on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)
To be considered for the higher salary band, candidates should also demonstrate:
- In-depth experience teaching Geography at GCSE level, with strong results
- Leadership experience (e.g., subject lead, curriculum coordinator, or involvement in geography-related extracurriculars)
- Evidence of continued professional development or advanced subject-specific training
