The Role

We are looking for a dedicated and motivated Geography Teacher to deliver engaging and high-quality lessons across KS3 and KS4. You’ll have the opportunity to spark curiosity, inspire learning, and make a real impact in the classroom. This is a full-time role, starting on a temporary basis with a clear pathway to a permanent contract for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver creative, well-structured geography lessons
  • Assess, monitor, and support student progress
  • Contribute to curriculum development within the department
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and engaging classroom environment
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and carers to support student wellbeing and achievement

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • Experience: At least 1–2 years of secondary teaching experience, including solid understanding of the Geography curriculum
  • Qualifications: A relevant degree in Geography or a related field, plus QTS
  • Training: Strong classroom management skills and experience with differentiated instruction; understanding of safeguarding
  • Skills: Excellent communication, organisation, and the ability to inspire and motivate students
  • Compliance:
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Enhanced Child Workforce DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one)

To be considered for the higher salary band, candidates should also demonstrate:

  • In-depth experience teaching Geography at GCSE level, with strong results
  • Leadership experience (e.g., subject lead, curriculum coordinator, or involvement in geography-related extracurriculars)
  • Evidence of continued professional development or advanced subject-specific training
