A large, diverse secondary school in the NG8 area of Nottingham is looking to appoint a Head of English who can lead with clarity, resilience and high expectations. This role is ideal for a teacher or leader with proven impact, ready to shape curriculum, behaviour culture, and outcomes in a school where strong leadership makes a real difference.
About the Role:
- Lead the strategic direction of the English faculty
- Drive excellence in teaching and learning across KS3 and KS4
- Support and develop a team of teachers, including line management and CPD
- Ensure high standards of behaviour, engagement, and academic achievement
- Take a key role in intervention strategies, assessment planning, and curriculum development
- Collaborate with senior leaders on school improvement priorities
- Uphold the Trust's inclusive values and play an active role in the wider community
The Right Candidate Will:
- Have QTS and successful experience teaching English across KS3/KS4
- Demonstrate clear evidence of raising attainment in English
- Bring strong behaviour management and a calm, authoritative presence
- Be skilled in motivating staff, managing change, and building a culture of high standards
