Cover Supervisor

About the Role:As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising and managing classes in the absence of the regular teacher. Your key duties will include ensuring students remain engaged in the lesson, managing classroom behaviour, and supporting students' learning in a structured environment. This role is perfect for those looking to gain experience in the education sector or aspiring to move into a teaching career.

You will be working across a range of subjects and age groups, ensuring that lessons run smoothly and that students stay on track with their learning. This position requires an individual who is confident, adaptable, and has excellent interpersonal skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise and manage classrooms in the absence of the class teacher.

• Ensure students are focused and engaged in pre-prepared lesson material.

• Maintain good classroom behaviour and a positive learning environment.

• Assist students with their work, providing support where needed.

• Monitor and manage students' progress, offering help and encouragement where appropriate.

• Report any behavioural issues to relevant staff, ensuring safeguarding procedures are followed.

• Support the wider school community and assist with extra-curricular activities when needed.

The Ideal Candidate:

• Experience working with young people, either in an educational setting or other relevant environments.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to engage with students effectively.

• A positive attitude and a calm, patient approach to managing behaviour.

• The ability to adapt to different teaching styles and subject areas.

• A strong work ethic and a willingness to take initiative.
