Progress Teachers are working closely with a local Secondary School to appoint a dedicated and compassionate Pastoral Assistant to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of students and contribute to their educational journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist teaching staff in delivering engaging lessons and activities that cater to the diverse needs of students within the unit.
- Provide one-to-one support to students who may require additional assistance, ensuring their unique learning needs are met.
- Contribute to maintaining a positive and inclusive learning environment by managing student behaviour effectively and fostering a supportive atmosphere.
- Work closely with teachers to plan and implement effective teaching strategies, adapting to the varied learning styles and abilities of students.
- Assist in the preparation and organisation of teaching materials, ensuring that resources are accessible and conducive to a productive learning environment.
- Regularly assess and report on student progress, collaborating with teachers to identify areas for improvement and implementing appropriate interventions.
- Build strong, positive relationships with students to support their emotional and academic development.
- Maintain open and effective communication with teachers, parents, and other relevant stakeholders to ensure a holistic approach to student support.
- Support the integration of students with diverse needs into mainstream education settings, fostering a sense of belonging and promoting inclusivity.
Requirements:
- Experience working with students with challenging behaviour (preferred).
- Strong ability to engage and motivate students with varied needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach to supporting young people.
- Experience in supporting students in Maths and English is desirable.
