The RoleThis is a senior, hands-on technical leadership role responsible for shaping and delivering complex R&D programmes focused on construction materials innovation.
You will:
Lead development of new technology areas within cement and concrete systems
Design and manage advanced experimental programmes and laboratory infrastructure
Specify, procure and commission specialist testing equipment
Ensure full compliance with HSE and laboratory best practice
Mentor and guide a multidisciplinary team of engineers and scientists
Bridge the gap between research output and industrial application
You will bring:
A PhD in Construction Materials, Civil Engineering, Chemistry or similar
10+ years’ industrial experience in cement/concrete R&D
Proven expertise in cement chemistry, hydration, performance and durability
Strong experience setting up and running laboratory environments
Background in sustainable materials, low-carbon processes or industrial decarbonisation initiatives
A track record of leading independent research and technical strategy
