About the Role
One of my local government clientsis seeking a well-organised and efficient Business Support Officer to provide vital administrative and operational support within its Social Services teams based in West Bridgford.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator or coordinator to play a key role in supporting frontline social care services that make a real difference in the lives of residents across Nottinghamshire.
You will work closely with social workers, team managers, and partner agencies to ensure that services run smoothly and effectively, providing high-quality business and administrative support to facilitate the delivery of care and safeguarding services.
Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive administrative and clerical support to social care teams and managers.

Prepare, process, and maintain confidential case documentation and reports.

Respond to telephone, email, and face-to-face enquiries from service users, professionals, and partner organisations with professionalism and empathy.

Manage data entry, record-keeping, and information updates across council systems, ensuring accuracy and compliance with data protection regulations.

Support meetings, including agenda preparation, minute-taking, and distribution of documentation.

Process financial transactions, such as invoices and purchase orders, in line with council procedures.

Liaise with internal departments and external agencies to support coordinated service delivery.

Assist in monitoring service performance and reporting key information to management.

Contribute to continuous improvement and maintain high standards of customer service.
About You
You will be a motivated and detail-oriented professional with strong administrative and organisational skills. You will have experience working in a busy office environment, ideally within a public sector or social care setting, and will be comfortable handling sensitive and confidential information.
Essential Skills and Experience:

Proven administrative or business support experience in a team-based environment.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to deal sensitively with members of the public and professionals.

Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office and data management systems.

Ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload effectively under pressure.

Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in all administrative processes.

Understanding of confidentiality, safeguarding, and data protection principles.

Desirable:

Previous experience supporting social care, health, or community-based services.
