Are you an experienced Purchasing Manager ready to step into a key role and drive procurement excellence?

Distinct is supporting an FMCG organisation to recruit an interim Purchasing Manager. This role is for six months and is based in Nottingham. Hybrid is offered - 3 days on-site.

As interim Purchasing Manager, you'll be responsible for leading and optimising a purchasing function during a transition period. This hands-on role involves supplier management, cost control, and ensuring continuity of supply across critical categories.

You will:

  • Manage and improve procurement processes across direct and indirect spend
  • Negotiate with suppliers to achieve best value, quality, and service levels
  • Monitor supplier performance and ensure contract compliance
  • Work closely with operational and finance teams to forecast demand and manage budgets
  • Drive cost savings and identify opportunities for process improvements

Your background:

  • Ideally studying towards CIPS or CIPS Qualified
  • Proven track record in purchasing/procurement roles
  • Strong negotiation, supplier management, and analytical skills
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication abilities
  • Available at short notice
