Principal Transport Planner – Team LeadAre you ready to take the lead on high-impact transport projects across the UK?Due to continued growth, we’re looking for a Senior or Principal Transport Planner to join a multi discipline consultants expanding Nottingham team. This is an exciting opportunity to step into a leadership role where you'll work on diverse and complex projects, helping to shape sustainable, effective transport solutions nationwide. The RoleAs a key member of our transport planning team, you will:
  • Lead the development and delivery of complex transport planning projects
  • Manage project inputs from site acquisition through to planning application and discharge of conditions
  • Oversee Transport Assessments, Statements, Travel Plans, and strategies for residential, retail, education, and mixed-use schemes
  • Provide expert advice to clients, ensuring their objectives are understood and delivered with precision
  • Support and mentor junior staff, helping to develop team capability and cohesion
  • Contribute to business growth through high-quality consultancy and project management
What You’ll BringWe’re looking for someone who can hit the ground running with strong technical and commercial acumen. You should have:
  • Proven experience delivering transport planning projects in a consultancy setting
  • In-depth knowledge of NPPF, Section 278 and 106 agreements, and sustainable transport solutions
  • Proficiency in TRICS, PICADY, ARCADY, and a working knowledge of LINSIG
  • Experience with junction design (signalised, roundabouts) and transport modelling methods
  • A proactive, solution-focused approach and confidence in client-facing roles
