As Design Engineer, responsibilities will include;
- Designing and developing sustainable products, components, and systems that align with the company's environmental and customer-focused goals.
- Leading product validation and testing to ensure performance, safety, and reliability.
- Staying ahead of industry trends and integrating emerging technologies and practices into design processes.
- Ensuring all designs comply with relevant regulations and meet required performance standards.
- Creating comprehensive manufacturing documentation, including detailed drawings and engineering Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Delivering cost-effective and functionally sound design solutions within project constraints.
- Supporting the wider engineering team with additional tasks as needed.
Key skills needed for the Design Engineer:
- A degree in Mechanical Engineering, a BTEC Higher National Certificate (or equivalent), or completion of an engineering apprenticeship.
- Proven ability to solve complex problems and develop sustainable design solutions.
- Experience working with plastic materials in product design.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to produce clear, concise technical reports.
