Parking And Cctv Technician

Location: Coton Road, CV11 5AA
Start Date: ASAP
Contract Duration: 2+ Months
Working Hours: Mon – Fri, 09:00 – 17:00, 37 Hours per week

Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative, clerical, and project management support for car park and CCTV related functions.
  • Collaborate with directors, team managers, and supervisors to achieve excellence in customer service.
  • Contribute to the production of service and business plans.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, Council policy, legislation, and technical standards.
  • Address inquiries, requests, and complaints efficiently related to car park operations.
  • Utilize technology to improve communications within the department and the Council.
  • Carry out work with a focus on equal opportunities and customer care.
  • Adhere to Health and Safety regulations and undertake personal development as required.
  • Handle administrative duties and queries related to the Council’s Parking and CCTV operations.
  • Assist with project delivery and administration within Parking and CCTV operations.
  • Process payments received through various methods and maintain records.
  • Update car park Penalty charge records and allocate photographic images.
  • Maintain sufficient stocks of necessary stationery and supplies.
  • Investigate and respond to formal representations against Penalty Charge Notices.
  • Manage the administration and issuance of parking permits and season tickets.
  • Monitor CCTV and CEO rotas, liaise with contractors, and report issues to the manager.
  • Comply with departmental policies and procedures for administrative duties.
  • Ensure work meets performance targets and quality standards.
  • Respond to public inquiries related to parking and CCTV services.
  • Administer the Town Centre “Bollard System”.
  • Identify irregularities in Penalty Charge Notices and report to the manager.
  • Liaise with relevant agencies regarding Penalty Charge Notice administration and debt collection.
  • Utilize IT software packages for accurate record-keeping and action-taking.
  • Produce management information and reports as required.
  • Maintain and control filing and correspondence systems within the team.
  • Understand Traffic Regulation Orders and the 2004 Traffic Management Act.
  • Reconcile cash from car park machines with audit tickets and receipts.
  • Support the coordination of Special Events with the manager and Senior CEO.
  • Provide adequate reception desk coverage during business hours.
  • Assist in other directorate work as required.
Person Specification
  • Experience in administrative roles within an office environment.
  • Experience dealing with people and contractors in challenging situations.
  • Proficiency in using computer systems, particularly MS Office (Word and Excel).
  • Experience in handling and accounting for money.
  • Project assistance experience.
  • GCSE (A-C) or equivalent in Maths and English.
  • Relevant car parking qualification or willingness to obtain one.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Understanding and adherence to procedures.
  • Ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to handle public interactions tactfully and helpfully in stressful situations.
  • Flexible, adaptable, and positive attitude towards change.
  • Patient and caring approach to dealing with the public and colleagues.
