About the Role

We are seeking a proactive Quality Supervisor to join our clients team on a fixed-term basis, working alongside another Quality Supervisor to ensure their products are safe, legal, and authentic, and produced to clearly defined standards.

Based within the more established section of their site, you'll lead the Quality Assurance team for our fully automated packaging lines. This hands-on role will see you act as the guardian of compliance, managing day-to-day quality operations, guiding and developing team members, and acting as an escalation point for compliance and non-conformance queries.

You'll work closely with management, operational, and engineering teams to resolve issues, implement improvements, and maintain compliance with BRC, retailer, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and develop the Quality Assurance team to ensure all activities are completed accurately and on time.

  • Set, monitor, and review team and individual performance objectives, providing regular feedback.

  • Maintain the Food Safety and Quality Management System in line with BRC standards, retailer requirements, and regulatory obligations.

  • Conduct verification activities including QMS, GMP, and internal audits.

  • Ensure production facilities meet GMP standards through regular checks and corrective actions.

  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to address and resolve food safety and quality risks.

  • Investigate packaging non-compliance and work with suppliers and the supply chain team to implement rapid solutions.

  • Monitor and investigate customer complaints, producing root cause analysis reports and implementing preventative measures.

  • Maintain accreditations including BRC, Red Tractor, Halal, and Kosher certifications.

  • Play an active role in BRC and retailer audits, including preparation, documentation, and follow-up actions.

About You

Essential:

  • Proven supervisory or management experience in a production/manufacturing environment (preferably food manufacturing).

  • Strong knowledge of BRC requirements, having led parts of audits or written quality policies.

  • Experience conducting internal audits (formal training/accreditation is an advantage).

  • Strong understanding of GMP, HACCP, TACCP, VACCP, product specifications, and process standards.

  • Excellent communication and influencing skills at all levels.

  • Level 3 Food Hygiene (willing to train to Level 4).

  • Level 3 HACCP (willing to train to Level 4).

  • Strong reporting skills, attention to detail, and competent IT skills.

Desirable:

  • Experience with retailer audit procedures.

  • Formal training/accreditation in internal auditing.
